Royal Thai Monastery
The beautiful Thai-style monastery in the Lumbini Eastern Monastic Zone.
Built from gleaming white marble and adorned with characteristic blue-tiled roofs, the Royal Thai Monastery (Wat Thai Lumbini) is one of the most elegant structures in the Eastern Monastic Zone. The Thai government and the Buddhist Association of Thailand contributed to its construction. The monastery features a large central hall with a beautiful golden Buddha statue, a manicured garden with lotus ponds, and a meditation retreat area. It serves as a home for Thai monks and is open to pilgrims and tourists wishing to meditate or learn about Theravada Buddhism.
