Great Drigung Lotus Stupa (German Temple)
A majestic Tibetan-style stupa with beautiful gardens in Lumbini.
The Great Drigung Lotus Stupa, popularly known as the German Temple, was built by the Drigung Kagyu order of Tibetan Buddhism with support from the German Tara Foundation. This towering stupa is exquisitely painted with intricate and detailed Buddhist iconography, including mandalas, deity images, and auspicious symbols. The surrounding garden is beautifully maintained with flower beds, water features, and meditation pathways. The stupa is an important center for Vajrayana Buddhism in Lumbini.
